I'm excited to have you in class and look forward to helping you succeed artistically, academically, and individually. Please make sure to review your course syllabus and have a family member sign it digitally with you. Syllabi can be found at the bottom of every page.
Rigor Redefined
This article outlines what employers are looking for (and having a hard time finding) in today's grads. Arts classes, particularly CTE/Practical Arts classes, are wonderful places to not only learn new artistic techniques, but all the "soft skills" students need to be good future employees, citizens, and humans, such as effective communication, curiosity, and collaboration. Check out the article for first hand accounts from top employers on what they really want in their new hires.
Participation in the arts has well documented positive effects on human development at every life stage. Help to empower students to create and explore by supporting the arts programs at LCC. Students use, on average, $40 to $50 in supplies in each art class, each year. You can contribute towards your student's experience, or sponsor a student in need by donating supplies or making a contribution to the LCCHS Foundation. If you are able to donate, please don't forget to specify which class or department it's for so it goes to the right class. When filling out the donation form, please enter class details in the "Note" section at the very end. Example entries: "VPA: Drawing & Design," "CTE: Imaging", "Yearbook."
Thank you so much for your support! Anything helps.
